Demon King Daimao is an anime that showcases nothing that can be disliked, but at the same time, it does not leave much of an impact at all. The series has a very typical high school anime mixed with some unfortunate comedy and a rushed sequence of events. The anime begins diving through a strict flow of harem until it suddenly becomes intense and induces some forced action after a few episodes. With every passing episode, you already know what’s coming next, which weakens the anticipation to carry on further with the anime. Indeed, the series has its moments that some viewers might enjoy, but it loses its way into being an epic anime due to the fast pace resulting in its lack of plot execution. The series was so rushed that two major battles were cramped into one final episode. If only more episodes properly executed every section of the plot patiently, the anime could have become a better experience for the viewers.
Demon King Daimao: Overview
The story of Demon King Daimao is about an orphan, Akuto Sai. He transfers into the Constant Magic Academy. Here, he meets Junko Hattori, a tsundere who shares the same vision as him of making the world a better place. Junko Hattori is the secondary protagonist of the series. She is a member of the Iga Ninja Clan and also a disciple of God Suhara. They make a sacred vow to make the world a better place on their way to the academy. In the school, a surprise awaits Akuto as he is told in a prophecy that his future occupation will be a ‘Demon Lord’. The anime trails through a series of events when the news of his prophecy spreads among the students. A lot of characters get scared even after his constant denial of the prophecy. He attains the attention of many beautiful girls in the series through different unintentional means. His continuous attempts at trying to prove he is not the prophesied keep backfiring only to make people believe the prophecy more. However, when he accidentally masters the dragon, Peterhausen, he begins unraveling some new secrets about the world, God, and himself.
Demon King Daimao Season 2 Release Date
The anime ended in 2010. There has not been any news regarding the making of another season on the Twitter accounts of the concerning authorities and studio. Some people might be waiting for another season after the abrupt end of Season 1, but there has been no announcement of a new season of Demon King Daimao in the past 11 years.
Demon King Daimao Season 2: What to expect?
If the studio decides to make another anime, there is a wide range of plot ideas for the new season. The light novel has 13 Acts, most of which are yet to be animated. There is a lot of plot left in the original novel that can be used to develop another season. The first rushed season would have a great chance of amendment in the second season if the makers of the anime decided to do it. Additionally, the first season left too many plot holes that need answering. Kena holds on to Peterhausen’s teeth in the end. Could there be more plot to this? The dragon contained infinite mana in him. His tooth could probably be a good twist for another season. Akuto might have killed God, but it has been indicated that Gods keep appearing. Now that nor Akuto nor Peterhause became the God, it is a question worth asking that who the next God will be. The first season also missed out on a lot of details of new characters that were introduced way late into the story– Bochirou, for example. Also, the hero, Hiroshi, needs more screentime!! Also, from a harem genre’s point of view, we still don’t know who Akuto will choose to be with among these five major beautiful characters.
