Before the basic details, let’s answer a crucial question regarding this anime: Who was Yasuke? Yasuke was a man of African origin who also served Japan in the sixteenth century. He was a retainer when Oda Nobunaga was the daimyo (a feudal lord in Japan). Yasuke followed Nobunaga in wars. After Nobunaga died in 1582, he continued serving Nobunaga’s heir, Oda Nobutada. Yasuke’s African origin brought many questions to the Japanese. Nobunaga Oda’s first impression of him was that his skin looked as if it was inked black. However, he later also praises Yasuke’s strength. After Yasuke’s capture during a war, he was sent off to a Christian Church by Akechi Mitsuhide, who called him an “animal” due to his dark skin. Netflix’s upcoming anime Yasuke is based on this very man. Despite its risky outlook, the anime is highly anticipated. Especially since MAPPA has taken over its animation. Moreover, Yasuke has a promising cast that will inspire fans to watch it on its release. The release date, trailer, and other details of Yasuke will thereby be thoroughly laid down in this article.
